Sure Thing visits Noyack Long Island to spend a morning of water sample taking. We were able to see how vital Surfrider's Blue Water Task Force program is, along with being able to peak behind the curtain and learn more about the individuals involved in conducting these tests. The Blue Water Task Force tests are able to measure fecal bacteria levels in recreational waters and compare them to water quality standards set to protect public health. This is used to raise awareness of local pollution problems and to bring together communities to implement solutions.

We follow Heidi & Tom Oleszczuk as they perform their Monday morning routine of testing multiple sites around the Sag Harbor area. We then see how the water tests are conducted when we head over to Pete Topping at the Peconic Baykeeper site.
